Risk at work: effects on mental health
The risk at work, according to a study conducted by French researchers, can aggravate certain health risks. Thus, a person working more than ten hours a day, for a minimum period of fifty days a year, has a greater risk of having a stroke.
To carry out this study, the cases of 140,000 people, aged 18 to 69 years, were studied. And the results showed that 0.9% of them had a stroke, of which 29.6% had worked more than 10 hours, every day, for at least 50 days a year. 10.1% had worked at this rate for more than 10 years.
Working also has an impact on mental health. The pressure, the schedules, the overload of tasks required… can create real suffering and be factors leading to mental health problems ranging from burn-out, to suicidal desires, to depression.
