Repetitive movements, heavy loads and bad postures
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) include pathologies that affect muscles, tendons and joints such as tendonitis, low back pain or carpal tunnel disorders.
One of the main risk factors for MSDs is the mechanical strain on the body: repetitive movements, heavy efforts (carrying heavy loads), precise and fine hand gestures, uncomfortable postures (high arms…)
Other factors can contribute to MSDs, such as psychosocial risks. Indeed, stress, linked to an excessive workload, daily pressure, lack of recognition, can amplify the symptoms of MSDs (pain, increased muscle tension…). In addition, poor work organization, lack of breaks, can play a role.
